This fire sign isn’t afraid of a little fashion adventure.
Sagittarius is always game for a little adventure, and this truism holds manifests best when it comes to one area in particular: the closet. Here, crafting statement-making outfits is the name of the game, as is comfort. To help decode the ins and outs of Sagittarius style, we tapped Taryn Bond, an evolutionary-intuitive astrologer.
“As a mutable sign, Sagittarius people tend to have a little bit of everything in their closet,” Bond says. “They likely have very different clothes for different occasions.”
And, no matter their signature look, a Sagittarius is typically a trendsetter—not a trend follower.
“As charismatic leaders, it’s not uncommon to see a Sagittarius defining the trends of the day,” Bond shares. “As a fire sign, they rock it first–and with total confidence. They’re drawn to the bold, the flashy and bling-y, and the sexy.”
Although this sign has a flair for the dramatic, they still value their comfort. Bond points out that you won’t find a Sagittarius wearing an outfit that “compromises their ability to move around” or has too many details. Looking for some examples? Ahead, we’ve rounded up 13 ways to dress like a Sagittarius.

Sleek Suits
A Sagittarius loves a power suit moment. “Suits are a wonderful option for Sagittarius placements,” Bond says. “They can sometimes be deceptively comfortable but will still give the authority with which Sagittarius intends to greet the world.” Even if you prefer neutral tones, you can still make a statement with this style by opting for no undershirt for a bold yet classic look.

Loafers
According to Bond, Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, which is the planet of wisdom and philosophy. This leads the sign to take “inspiration from vintage Ivy League professor or old English writer energy.” Enter a classic shoe choice: loafers. “The sophistication and practicality of the loafer is an irresistible combination for Sag—it matches their lifestyle and essence all too well,” she explains.

Silk Fabrics
“Silk and similar textiles are a perfect match for Sagittarius’s elegance, adding that little bit of ‘extra’ that the sign is known for,” says Bond. Sagittarius is also characterized by style versatility, so she points out they tend to wear this look in one of three ways. “We may see a Sagittarius rocking an elegant silk maxidress or dressing down a midi skirt with a beat-up tee and sneakers,” Bond explains. Those who prefer a more structured look may opt for a silk blouse paired with jeans or tailored pants.

Flowy Pants
While this sign is all about eye-catching looks, not every Sagittarius will reach for a form-fitting garment. “Sometimes a Sagittarius just cannot do tight pants,” Bond says. “You’ll likely see a Sagittarius pair flowy, non-restrictive pants with a cropped sweater or dressed up with a blazer.” Even with a more relaxed silhouette, a Sagittarius can still be bold with this style by choosing a pair of flowy pants in a vibrant hue or pattern.

Patterned Tights
More is more when it comes to a Sagittarius’s accessories. They’re not afraid to experiment with items that draw more attention to their outfit, which includes patterned tights. Bond says, “They may go for a gentle polka dot for professional looks and something more interesting—perhaps even bedazzled—for a night out.” While on more casual days, “we might find Sag rocking a pair of ripped-up tights with combat boots and an oversized tee.”

Intricate Bralettes
As a fire sign, Bond says it’s natural for a Sagittarius to opt for something eye-catching and perhaps a bit revealing. Though bralettes are typically layered under a top, a Sagittarius takes a bolder approach. “Pairing a blazer or flowy set with a beautiful bralette is only natural for Sagittarius: They want to send a message, but they’ve also got somewhere to be,” Bond shares. “A unique lacy bralette with a floral print or sparkles is the perfect leave-’em-wanting-more Sagittarian move.”

Sheath Dresses
“Although a Sagittarius’s reputation as a fun-loving free-spirit is undeniable in many natives of the sign, their elegance and grace must not be forgotten,” says Bond, adding that “a layered mesh sheath dress is a breathtaking complement to a Sag’s physique while exuding a vibe of class, sophistication, and celebration.” Try styling a sheath dress with statement jewelry, such as layered chain necklaces or drop hoop earrings.

Baseball Hats
Sagittarius season may not coincide with baseball season, but this fire sign will still represent their favorite team with their accessories. “As a mutable fire sign, Sagittarius is the king or queen of ‘just rolled out of bed’ messy hair,” Bond says. “ Luckily, baseball hats totally balance their desire to look good while sometimes simply not having the time to put in total effort every morning.” If you’re not a sports fan, we recommend you opt for a baseball cap in a solid hue that will go with any outfit in your wardrobe.

Satchel Bag
Another wardrobe staple beloved by a Sagittarius is a satchel bag. “A buckle satchel is a common go-to for visionary Sagittarius,” says Bond. “Its ease of use, spaciousness, and elegance speak to the sign’s core motivations.” But even with such a timeless accessory, some Sagittarians can’t help their adventurous nature. According to Bond, “If they go for a small satchel, Sagittarians tend to be drawn towards embellished or embroidered purses.”

Oversized Shawl
Sagittarius season marks the last month of fall, so many with this sign will look for garments to keep them warm but still appeal to their adventurous spirit. “Oversized shawls or scarves that can wrap around the body give a chic, classy look that also appeals to the fire sign’s flair for the dramatic,” explains Bond. “Auburn, deep purples, and burnt orange tones are especially powerful here. These shades are associated with Sagittarius and allows them to still have a big presence even when cold weather limits some fashion choices.”

Oversized Blazer
In keeping with Sag’s penchant for Ivy League-inspired looks, the oversized blazer is a perfect addition to the fire sign’s wardrobe—especially because the loose-fitting garment is plenty comfortable, too.

Baggy Jeans
Speaking of comfort: baggy jeans. With a little more structure that a flow-y, elastic waist pant, the trendiest denim of the season offers the perfect balance of style and ease.

Pattern Mixing
Sag outfits often “make a statement and catch the eye,” Bond says, and what better way to do so that via pattern mixing? With this style strategy, the world—a.k.a. your closet—really is your oyster.
