How Every Zodiac Sign Will Fair In Love and Relationships This Year

  • After a passive 2025, 2026 pushes us to make bold moves in romance.
  • With multiple important transits in Aries, watch out for new and blossoming relationships.
  • All 12 zodiac signs have the opportunity to transform their love lives this year, but Sagittarius, Libra, and Scorpio will be particularly poised for success.

As we approach the year’s end, don’t feel discouraged if this year has left you depleted, impatient, or even a bit lost. In 2025, the cosmos had us revisiting old patterns in order to clear them out, as well as sitting in our emotions, ensuring we felt every ounce of them.

But as we head into 2026, we move into more fiery territory, amping up passion, expression, and courage. Naturally, this has some larger implications for our love lives, with both Saturn and Neptune in Aries encouraging us to build the structure necessary to actualize our inspiration.

With Jupiter (the planet of abundance) in Cancer for the first half of the year, we’re focusing on supporting our home and family life—and potentially welcoming new people into that space. Then, when Jupiter moves into Leo this July, we’ll all feel a surge of newfound confidence that can surely aid in flirting, wearing your heart on your sleeve, and claiming what you desire without apology.

Curious what the stars have in store for your love life this year? Read on to find out what all 12 signs can expect. (And don’t forget to check your sun and rising sign!)

Meet the expert

  • Grace McGrade is an astrologer and the co-founder of Stars Align.
  • Jill Brown is an astrologer and the owner of Eight Stars Co.

Aries

This is a big year for your personal identity, Aries, so while dating and romance might not be at the top of your list of to-do’s, you definitely have chances for deeper, more meaningful relationships this year.

That’s because, according to Grace McGrade, Astrologer and Co-Founder of Stars Align, Saturn and Neptune in your first house of self are waking you up to your own agency. “You feel more decisive, more autonomous, and less willing to wait for external validation,” she explains, adding, “This is the year you realize your life responds best when you lead from instinct and commit to your own direction without hesitation.”

And as astrologer and owner of Eight Stars Co., Jill Brown adds, these next 2-3 years will set the tone for your next 2-3 decades, so be sure to cultivate a steadfast, strong version of yourself and your dreams.

When you do that, the relationships and connections you attract will be more aligned, fulfilling, and supportive to your larger goals. Go get ‘em, Tiger!

Taurus

If you’ve found yourself in loops of toxic relationships or constantly trying to prove yourself, Taurus, 2026 is the year you finally say, No more! As Brown tells InStyle, you’ll start seeing relationships for what they are this year, “and simply choose to focus on the things and people that fuel you, no longer duping yourself into illusions about the ones that don’t.”

And as you create this space in your love life by letting go of dead-end connections, she says, you can then receive the blessings of Jupiter, which brings abundance and gratitude, as well as stronger intuition.

Not to mention, McGrade adds, 2026 will be a much more stable year than 2025, so if you haven’t felt ready to enter a new relationship, your nervous system might finally be able to handle one when Uranus exits your sign in April.

Then, Chiron entering Taurus midyear opens a longer healing arc around self-worth, security, and embodiment, restoring your confidence, McGrade explains. “By the end of 2026, you’re operating from stability you can feel, trust, and build on, with a deeper sense that you no longer need to prove anything.”

Gemini

You have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to step into leadership this year, Gemini, so even if you do have your eye on someone special, do not lose the plot. According to Brown, Uranus moving into your sign in April will bring seismic shifts in your life as you shake off old narratives and patterns, radically transforming your path.

This is a year about authenticity for you—which could put some people off—but on the flipside, will also attract the right people into your life. “Let the false and the fake slip away as you embody your true self,” Brown adds.

And according to McGrade, Saturn and Neptune in Aries incite changes within your social world, clarifying who you’re growing with and where your future is headed. “You become more selective, less scattered, and surprisingly decisive about your future,” McGrade explains, and that includes in your romantic life.

When in doubt, stay true to yourself. This is the year you remember who you are, and any relationships that no longer align with this updated version of you are only going to hold you back.

Cancer

With all this talk about Saturn and Neptune in Aries, you might be wondering what it means for your love life, Cancer. Well, the thing is—these transits are impacting your career sector. So while you’re on your quest for love this year, remember to keep your eyes on the prize.

If you’re already in a relationship, for example, you’ll want to find a good balance between work and pleasure. If you’re single, you’ll do well to prioritize hitting your deadlines and putting yourself out there on the dating field.

As McGrade explains, this is a purpose-driven year for you, strengthening your boundaries, increasing your authority, and keeping you emotionally honest. But of course, even if you aren’t trying to attract anyone new, all this attention and recognition will definitely have people looking your way.

Brown notes that Jupiter in your first house for the first half of the year is not only bringing you confidence and exposure, but also adoration and appreciation from those around you. Lean into it and don’t be surprised if suitors are coming out of the woodworks—just be discerning about who you actually entertain, remembering that this is a year for you to make career moves.

Leo

The first half of 2026 is for rest and decompressing, Leo, as Uranus retrograde encourages you to seek solitude. According to Brown, this time is essential for you to think, strategize, and visualize what you truly desire.

“Take the first half of the year to get really clear about where you want your life to go and who you want to be a part of it,” she says, “and then you can start rigging your sails for the right winds to blow you there.”

Then, once Jupiter moves into your first house right around your birthday, you’ll be ready to step into this new version of yourself—and ready to welcome someone else into your life. As McGradenotes, Jupiter in your sign gives you a major confidence boost, and increases your visibility, so you could have multiple people vying for your attention. All eyes on you! (Just how you like it.)

“It's a main character moment […] where momentum builds because you trust yourself more openly,” McGrade says. And of course, when you’re operating from a place of self-trust, you’re more likely to call in relationships that feel supportive and reciprocal.

Virgo

You’re leaning into deeper intimacy this year, Virgo, which should come as a big relief. As McGrade explains, after years of overthinking, self-correcting, and trying to get everything exactly right, 2026 invites you to surrender control. And that’s likely just what your relationships need!

With Saturn and Neptune activating your intimacy and shared resources zone, she explains, you’re letting your guard down as you embrace trust in your deepest connections. “You become more comfortable asking for support, sharing your emotions, and letting things unfold without micromanaging the outcome,” she adds.

Of course, Brown notes, you might run up against a bit of a learning curve on this front. You’ll need to confront some fears around relationship vulnerabilities; This year will require you to be more open with your loved ones, including asking for help and accepting it where it’s needed.

“If you can do that,” Brown says, “the good waiting on the other side of those growing pains will be monumentally positive.” When in doubt, use your discernment to get clear on which people in your life are actually supporting your higher path.

Libra

You’re the most relationship-oriented sign, Libra, so you’ll be happy to know this is a big year for your love life. In fact, it’s a profound reassessment! As Brown explains, with both Saturn and Neptune in the relationship sector of your chart, you’ll be learning how to stand up for yourself and hold firm to your boundaries in 2026.

And that’s a big deal for you, considering you’re inclined to compromise at all costs. This year, though, you’re much more in touch with your relationship needs—and you’re able to express them.

With the planet of boundaries and the planet of illusion moving through your partnership sector, you become more aware of where you have been projecting, idealizing, or carrying emotional weight that isn’t yours, McGrade notes. “Some connections deepen through honesty and reciprocity, while others reveal themselves, seemingly overnight.”

All in all? This year asks you to balance your instinct to people-please with firmer boundaries and a bit more independence, according to McGrade. “You are still magnetic, still sought after, but far more selective. By the end of 2026, your relationships feel cleaner, more reciprocal, and more aligned with who you are becoming,” she adds.

Scorpio

You can’t pour from an empty cup, Scorpio, and that’s a lesson 2026 is going to teach you—whether you want to learn or not. As Saturn and Neptune ignite the health sector of your chart, you’re being asked to slow down and tend to your routines, even if that means putting dating on the backburner.

Because the truth is, if you’re neglecting yourself, your relationships will suffer. But when you are focusing on your needs and your routines, your relationships flourish because you show up energized, happy, and healthy.

Then, when Jupiter moves into romantic Leo midyear, Brown says, you get a surge of visibility and recognition—so watch out for new suitors during this transit. Just remember, if you don’t put in the personal work first, new relationships aren’t likely to last.

“This is a year where your power comes from consistency, confidence, and having the stamina to keep up with your own ambitions,” McGrade explains. So when all else fails, remember to prioritize yourself this year, and your relationships will only benefit.

Sagittarius

Get excited, Sagittarius, because according to McGrade, this is a permission slip year where creativity, romance, and desire take center stage again. With Saturn and Neptune activating your fifth house of flirting and casual relationships, she explains, life starts feeling playful again—but this time with direction and purpose.

Romance isn’t a distraction for you in 2026; If anything, it’s fuel. “You feel inspired to take risks, flirt with new ideas, and say yes to what excites you without overthinking the outcome,” McGrade notes, adding that when Jupiter enters Leo midyear, your confidence skyrockets.

You’ll be more than prepared to put yourself out there romantically if you’re single, and if you’re already in a relationship, you have a strong opportunity to reignite that spark if it’s been dwindling.

Just keep in mind, with Uranus transiting into curious Gemini, Brown says your love life could experience some unexpected twists and turns. “Get ready for an infusion of excitement and change—there’s emphasis here on love, romance, and children,” she explains.

Capricorn

This is a big year for your emotional safety and security, Capricorn, so pay close attention to who makes you feel safe—and obviously, who doesn’t. Saturn and Neptune are igniting awareness in your fourth house of home and family, which also deals with our sense of belonging in the world.

“You feel motivated to take charge of your private life in a more direct way—you’re less willing to live in emotional or physical spaces that don’t reflect who you are now,” McGrade explains, and that translates to your relationships as well.

If you’re already coupled up, of course, this could be a prosperous year for your family in terms of real estate, moving to a new location, or even having children. As Brown explains, these transits also bring you financial security and a deep sense of grounding.

All in all, while relationships aren’t the primary focus for you this year, tending to your home life and making it feel more secure will only ripple waves of support out to other areas of your life.

Aquarius

If there are relationships or connections weighing you down, Aquarius, 2026 is the year to leave them in the dust. With Pluto in your sign for the next several decades, according to Brown, it’s stripping away any and all facades that aren’t authentic for you.

For the first half of the year, according to both Brown and McGrade, you’re learning how to improve your communication, finding your voice, and speaking with clarity. And other people will take notice, to be sure!

As the year continues on, your world expands through new connections. With Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance, entering Leo midyear, you get a surge of energy in the relationship sector of your chart.

“Relationships old and new become a source of opportunity, growth, and momentum. New collaborators, clients, romantic interests, or allies arrive with warmth and confidence, reflecting a bigger version of who you’re becoming,” McGrade explains, adding that this is a year where the right people will find you and amplify you.

Pisces

Neptune has been in your sign for quite some time now, which, according to Brown, has resulted in a heavy dose of self-doubt, co-dependence, and even escapism. But with the murkiness of Neptune and the self-criticism of Saturn both exiting your sign, she says, you have a new conviction: You are going to rescue yourself.

You’re finding the structure and self-worth you’ve always needed this year, and that will help you let go of relationships you were staying in out of comfort or abandonment fears. It’s giving independent, confident, and self-assured—all of which help you find more aligned connections.

Your relationships flourish when you do this self-rescuing, Brown says, adding that this is a wonderful year to prove yourself to yourself.

Think stronger boundaries, grounded clarity, and increased self-esteem, McGrade says. With Saturn and Neptune in your second house of values and self worth, you know how you want to invest your energy and act accordingly, with a clear understanding of what you deserve from your partnerships.
